Just a quick post to let you know that the pup, now known as "Tanner", is improving! I'm co-fostering him - I have him during the day and my friend has him overnight. It's a bit crazy, but it's the best we can do right now.
The meds are definitely helping! He's more active, alert, hungry. Skin tone and coat is improving. Just a few days have made a big difference.
Am headed to the vet with him this afternoon for another check-up. We have a potential forever home interested in him, but they want to chat with the vet first. He's still need to continue with his meds and follow-up fecal tests (and possible re-treatment) for the giardia, but I think he's turned a corner.
The last time the vet saw him she said that he would have died in 48 hrs without medical intervention. Scary. I'm looking down the road and hoping that once the pup is in a new home I can follow his full recovery and the adventures of his growing up. :-)
Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes on behalf of "Tanner".
Will keep y'all posted and will post more pics soon.
