Today was Ben's first day of school. Sort of. They book each of the new JK kids in along with the parents for a separate 20 minute orientation to help transition the children to the new routine. So we set off to find Ben's classroom and meet the teacher:

There was rain in the forecast so we brought umbrellas along just in case....

Crossing at the proper school crossing....

Walking through the doors....

The first thing the teacher did was to ask Ben to draw a picture of himself. Being the independent and somewhat random child he is, he decided to draw this instead:

When he was asked what it was he was drawing he said: "an animal, the kind that we hunt." Oh boy. What a great first impression!
