The first parcel was from Ray, in North Carolina, who sent me a red dot scope for my shotgun. I was hoping to buy a set of used fiber optic sights somewhere, but out of the blue Ray offered me one of his red dots and in no time it arrived in my mailbox. It's now on my Mossberg dailed in and ready for turkey season. (Now I just need to find a farm with some turkeys on it...)
The second parcel was from Lydia, a friend in Seattle. I got to know Lydia through our common love for Airedales and support of Airedale Rescue. We've never met, but somehow it seems like we've always been friends. She'd seen my note about my recent miscarriage and wrote to let me know that she was thinking of me. In her parcel she included a gift for Ben as well as a candle in a holder for me. That candle and the sentiment that accompanied is something I'll always cherish.
It's amazing how many new friends the internet has brought into my life. Some I've met and others I may never meet, but it makes no difference. It's also been wonderful to reconnect with old friends that I've lost track of over the years. I realize that the internet can be both a blessing and a curse, but for me personally it's enriched my life and I'm grateful for that.
Thank you to all of my friends out there in cyberspace whether we've met or not... thanks for meeting me here!
